Historic Charm
Kitchen Renovation
We reimagined this 1940s bungalow kitchen into a highly functional and aesthetically cohesive space—infused with personal history, intentional design choices, and respectful updates. The goal was to preserve the original charm while modernizing systems and enhancing usability.
Original features were thoughtfully carried forward, and sustainably sourced star-and-cross tile from Fireclay Tile was meticulously installed around the kitchen window—creating a striking, handcrafted focal point. The tile not only adds character but supports our commitment to sustainable design.
A critical discovery during the renovation was the need to upgrade the original electrical panel and fuse box. We collaborated closely with the contractor and electrician to ensure all upgrades were seamlessly integrated and up to code.
We also coordinated an exterior remodel to complement the interior transformation, ensuring flow and consistency throughout the property. Wherever possible, we reused original elements and layered in the client’s own vintage finds and collected objects—bringing soul and authenticity to the finished design.
This kitchen now reflects both the history of the home and the lifestyle of its owner—warm, intentional, and uniquely personal.
